Born and raised in the shadow of Kanchenjunga, Mingma discovered his love for the mountains while accompanying his father on yak herding expeditions as a child. What began as childhood adventures through rhododendron forests evolved into a lifelong passion for guiding travelers through the mystical trails of the Eastern Himalayas. With over 15 years of professional guiding experience, Mingma has led more than 320 successful treks across Singalila Ridge, from first-time trekkers to seasoned mountaineers. His intimate knowledge of local weather patterns, hidden viewpoints, and the best chai stops along the trail makes every journey unforgettable. Beyond trekking, Mingma is deeply committed to sustainable tourism and supporting local communities. He founded a scholarship program for children from porter families and actively works on trail conservation projects throughout Singalila National Park.
